1 Dead After Truck Crashes Into House in Hampton

A New London man was killed when a pickup crashed into a house in Hampton Tuesday.

State police confirmed the crash happened around 12:40 p.m. in the area of 465 Hartford Turnpike (Route 6).

Police said that 32-year-old Patrick Dunn was driving on Route 6 when he went off the right shoulder and crashed into a house. He suffered fatal injuries.

One neighbor who lives diagonally across the street said her child was home at the time of the crash and said their entire house shook so hard that a cup on the counter toppled over. They said it sounded like an explosion.

Route 6 was closed in the area and traffic was being diverted onto South Brook Road for hours. The road reopened around 4:30 p.m.
