Police ID Middletown Man Killed in Bristol Motorcycle Crash

A 56-year-old motorcyclist from Middletown is dead after a crash at Willis Street and East Road in Bristol on Friday morning.

Police said Matthew J. Cote, 56, of Middletown was driving a 2013 Harley-Davidson Street Glide southbound on Willis Street,  and approaching East Road at 11:52 a.m., when the crash happened. 

An 81-year-old Bristol woman driving a Buick Century was stopped at a stop sign, then drove into the intersection and hit him, according to police. 

Cote, who was not wearing a helmet, sustained a serious head injury and later died at Saint Francis Hospital, according to police.

The woman was not injured.

Traffic officers are investigating and ask anyone with information about the crash to call the traffic division at 860-584-3035.
