High pressure in southeastern Canada is in control of our weather through the weekend and into early next week.

That means nice low humidity and comfortable sleeping, with plenty of sunshine for most of New England.

We have blue sky for our Saturday, but the exception will be in the higher elevations where some fair-weather cloudiness will develop over the mountains. High temperatures will be in the 70s with wind from the north east at 10-15 mph.

There will be a clear sky Saturday night, with low temperatures in the 40s and 50s south, 30s and 40s north.

Things change a bit on Sunday, with more of a gusty wind coming off the ocean. A layer of low clouds may develop in southern New England with a few spot showers. Any showers will be brief and light, and most of the day will be dry.

It will be a little bit brighter in northern New England. High temperatures will be in the 70s, except for 60s near the beach in southern New England.

There won't be much change on Monday, with high-pressure still in control. There will be some clouds coming off the ocean with a chance of a shower, and high temperatures will be near 70 degrees.

As the high-pressure system slowly moves out in the middle of next week, we have to watch for both a warm front with some thunderstorms approaching from the west, and perhaps something developing in the tropics.

There’s a chance that a tropical storm or hurricane could form off of the southeastern United States late this weekend and early next week. Most of the guidance has any tropical developments staying offshore, and going out to our east the middle of the week. Either way, we will probably get some rain as the warmer air comes back in by Wednesday.

It’s likely warm and humid at the end of the week, and to start the Labor Day Weekend with temperatures back in the 80s with a threat for afternoon thunderstorms.
