Police Searching for ‘Armed and Dangerous' Shooting Suspect

Authorities are searching for a suspect whom police are calling "armed and dangerous" after a shooting seriously injured a Massachusetts man.

Lowell police say they're looking for 26-year-old Haverhill resident Dwayne Johnson to charge him with armed assault with intent to murder.

Johnson is accused of shooting an unidentified 24-year-old Haverhill man in downtown Lowell overnight Sunday.

Police say the victim was with friends at the Village Smokehouse on Palmer Street and encountered Johnson as he was leaving to go home, adding Johnson and the victim have a history.

The victim was shot once in the abdomen, and was taken to a Boston-area hospital via a medical helicopter in serious condition. His current condition is unclear.
