An 18-year-old Massachusetts man has been arrested in connection with stabbing of a 16-year-old near a high school earlier this week.
Lynn police say Johel Ramirez-Chavez was arrested Thursday on multiple charges.
He was arraigned Friday in Lynn District Court on armed assault to murder and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. It's unclear if he has an attorney.
The stabbing happened Tuesday evening on a basketball court behind Lynn English High School on Goodridge Street.
The 16-year-old victim, who had been taken to Massachusetts General Hospital, is still recovering from his injuries, according to police.
