A young man was killed after being struck by a commuter train in Massachusetts Tuesday afternoon, authorities confirm.
The victim has been identifed as 13-year-old Eric Plathe of Dedham.
MBTA Transit Police say the teen was killed at Endicott Station on the Franklin branch line around 4:20 p.m.
Dedham firefighters, police and EMS responded to the scene along with transit police, authorities said.
Although the line has since been reopened, commuters are being warned to expect severe delays.
The investigation is ongoing.
