MBTA Commuter Rail Returning to Full Service

Greater Boston’s public transportation will return to full service Monday as the MBTA commuter rail system will have all trains running

Greater Boston’s public transportation will return to full service Monday as the MBTA commuter rail system will have all trains running.

To commemorate the day and to thank winter weary passengers, Gerald Francis, the general manager of commuter rail services for Keolis, the company that operates the commuter rail, will meet, greet and shake hands with passengers.

Only a few weeks ago the commuter rail was only operating at 75 percent, forcing people to add hours to their morning commutes just to try to get to work on time.

Monday and Tuesday the Massachusetts State Legislature’s transportation committee has scheduled oversight hearings at the Statehouse. The panel has summoned a number of officials to discuss topics including the overall condition of the transportation network and response plans for extreme weather.
