The Maine Department of Transportation wants drivers to be safe on the roads this holiday, so they're posting highway signs but having some fun with them.
One sign reminds everyone to have a designated driver, saying "you're not a sparkler, don't drive lit."
Another sign reminds people to not drive distracted, saying "let freedom ring, hang up the phone."
And one sign plays off the recent high temperatures, with officials saying to slow down and keep a cool head: "That's the temperature, not the speed limit."
Though the signs are funny, the message is serious: keep it slow and safe on the roads today and every day.
