Portland, Maine, man accused of killing a man and then fleeing to Minnesota has pleaded not guilty.
Abdirahman Haji-Hassan, who was arrested on Dec. 19 in Minneapolis, appeared in court Thursday for the first time since being brought back to the state.
Defense lawyer Molly Butler Bailey told the Portland Press Herald that her client spent the past 10 days being driven back to Maine in the back of a van before arriving Wednesday night.
He's charged with murder in the fatal shooting of Richard Lobor on Nov. 21. Police said Lobor was shot in the head and in the leg in an apartment in the city.
