Maine Marine Patrol members pulled an urchin dragger from Lubec Narrows shortly after his boat turned over.

The Maine Department of Marine Resources says Marine Patrol Specialist Russell Wright and Officer Brian Brodie heard someone yell that a person was in the water around 1 p.m. on Oct. 23. Wright says he saw dragger Bracy Ashby in the water, his boat overturned, holding onto the outboard motor.

Observers say Ashby's boat flipped due to strong winds and an ebb tide current. The marine patrol says Wright and Brodie borrowed a mussel dragger's skiff and navigated the boat to Ashby. The patrol says Ashby had been in the water for 20 minutes and was in danger of becoming incapacitated by cold.

Ashby was treated for hypothermia at the scene.
