Maine State Police say the victim of Sunday’s murder-suicide was a baby boy.

Authorities say 14-month-old Quinten Leavitt was shot and killed by his father, 35-year-old Matthew Leavitt, who then shot and killed himself.

Autopsies revealed both Quinten and Matthew Leavitt died from a single gunshot wound.

Officers were called early Sunday to a home at 728 Reach Road. They discovered the two bodies when they entered the Presque Isle home.

The deaths were treated as a domestic violence murder-suicide based on information obtained by investigators.

Detectives finished gathering evidence at the Reach Road home on Monday.
