Maine Woman Busted for Heroin, Cocaine Trafficking

A Westbrook, Maine, woman was arrested in Portland on Thursday for the sale of heroin and cocaine, the Drug Enforcement Agency says.

Rachel Rembert, 28, was arrested at a home on Stoneledge Drive where she was visiting a friend. A DEA agent spotted her car and decided to take action.

Rembert attempted to flee the home, but she was quickly taken into custody before escaping the residence. She has been charged with drug trafficking.

Upon conducting a search, authorities found Rembert to be in possession of 60 grams of crack cocaine and 14 grams of heroin.

Rembert was taken to the Cumberland County Jail. No bail was set.

Following the arrest, agents went back to search the Stoneledge Drive home. They seized several drug-related items, including digital scales and packaging materials.

The investigation remains ongoing at this time. Additional charges are likely to come.

Police estimated the street value of the seized drugs to be $25,000.
