A Massachusetts man is facing charges after police say he allegedly bit a police officer during a motor vehicle stop in Worcester on Tuesday afternoon.
Brandon Carrion, 19, of Worcester, is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday on charges of driving with a suspended license, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and assault and battery on a police officer.
Police said an officer on patrol in the downtown area noticed a Ford Escape driven by Carrion at about 1:15 p.m. Tuesday. When Carrion was at a red light under the Green Street bridge, the officer said he recognized Carrion and knew he didn't have a valid driver's license.
At that point, the officer activated his lights and approached Carrion's vehicle. Police said Carrion reached across the passenger side of the car and then climbed out the passenger side window.
The officer was able to catch up with Carrion as he was running away and bring him to the ground but police said Carrion grabbed the officer’s right forearm and bit it with so much force that his teeth broke the officer's skin.
When the officer pulled his arm away from Carrion's mouth, he got up and continued to run away. He was eventually caught by another officer working a detail at nearby Union Station.
The officer who was bitten was taken to an area hospital for treatment. His exact condition is unknown.

It's unclear if Carrion has an attorney to represent him at his arraignment in Worcester District Court.
