Man Accused of Dragging Officer With Car to Be Arraigned

The Middlesex District Attorney's Office on Monday announced charges against Michael Clark

A 27-year-old man accused of stealing a car and dragging a police officer before being shot by another officer is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday at a Boston hospital

The Middlesex District Attorney's Office on Monday announced charges against Michael Clark in connection with the events in Chelmsford over the weekend.

Prosecutors say it began as a traffic stop on Saturday night in Tyngsborough. They say the suspect, later identified as Clark, fled in the car, and an officer followed him to Chelmsford.

A Chelmsford officer then tried to stop the car. Prosecutors say Clark pulled into a parking lot, but backed out when the Chelmsford officer approached, catching him on the car door and dragging him. The Tyngsborough officer then shot Clark twice.
