A man accused of stabbing a woman with a pair of scissors in broad daylight in Boston will not face a judge on Monday as originally scheduled.

Luis Olivo, 27, faces several charges including armed assault with intent to murder and resisting arrest following the Friday stabbing of a 23-year-old woman on the Charles River Esplanade.

A doctor testified Monday that Olivo is "acutely psychotic" and said he asked her during their session if she was Hillary Clinton. The judge did not feel comfortable moving forward, and Olivo's appearance was waived. He will be held without bail while undergoing a mental health evaluation at Bridgewater State Hospital and will be arraigned on July 19.

The alleged attack happened just before 4 p.m. Friday when Olivo allegedly rushed to the woman without provocation and stabbed her in the head, according to state police. He then allegedly tacked her to the ground and struck her.

The victim was jogging on a footbridge between the Esplanade and the lagoon, authorities said.

Officials said the woman was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital. She was treated and released on Saturday.

Olivo was arrested following a foot pursuit and a struggle.

Video obtained exclusively by NBC10 Boston showed a state trooper chasing a man wearing a red shirt and khaki shorts before tackling him to the ground. A pair of scissors believed to have been used in the attack were recovered at the scene.

State police said a preliminary investigation determined the victim does not know Olivo.

Olivo is charged with armed assault with intent to murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, aggravated assault and battery, assault and battery, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.
