A 22-year-old man accused of shooting at a Salem, Massachusetts, officer plead not guilty.
Jeremiah Wooden, age 22, of Malden was charged with armed assault with the intent to murder, resisting arrest and other crimes.
He appeared in court Tuesday morning where he plead not guilty.
According to the district attorney's office, Wooden tried to shoot a Salem officer after the officer tried to take him into custody on several outstanding warrants on Thursday evening.
Wooden was also charged with assault and battery on a police officer, attempted assault and battery with a firearm, possession of a firearm during a felony, carrying a firearm without a license, possession of a firearm with a defaced serial numbers,discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, operating a motor vehicle after license suspension, subsequent offense, and assault by a dangerous weapon.
