Man Accused of Threatening Firefighters, Blocking Pond

Sixty-five-year-old John Wilson was cited on aggravated disorderly conduct and resisting arrest charges

A Hyde Park, Vermont, couple is facing charges after authorities say the man threatened firefighters, obstructed access to a pond used to fight a barn fire and resisted arrest.

Sixty-five-year-old John Wilson was cited on aggravated disorderly conduct and resisting arrest charges. Sixty-four-year-old Maureen Wilson was cited for hindering an arrest.

When sheriff's deputies went to the Wilsons' home to discuss the threats Friday, they say John Wilson tried to shut the door and an altercation ensued. Authorities say Maureen Wilson was taken into custody with a head laceration. John Wilson complained of chest pains so both were transported to Copley Hospital and treated and released. A deputy also was treated for a knee injury.

It was not immediately known if the Wilsons were being represented by an attorney.
