Man With ‘Man Bun' Wanted in String of Maine Sexual Harassment Incidents

After a series of disturbing incidents involving a man touching or exposing himself in front of women, police in multiple Maine municipalities are asking for the public's help to track him down.

Security video from this weekend shows a man outside an Aroma Joe's coffee drive-thru in Sanford. The man was touching himself in a sexual way while trying to get inside, women who were in the cafe and another man approached down the street, according to Sanford police Det. Everett Allen.

"A male had made odd sexual behavior towards them and odd sexual comments," Allen said.

The reports bear similarities to crimes in other places across the region.

A man flashed two female students less than a week ago at the University of Southern Maine campus in Gorham. Around roughly the same time period in Portland, a jogger ran into a fire station after a man in a truck followed her, then exposed his genitals.

That incident came with concurrent reports of two young women who told police they ran away from a man who made sexually inappropriate comments towards them.

In each incident, the suspect was described the same way: "A white male between 25 and 35 years of age, thin, blondish-brownish hair that's usually slicked back into what people call a man bun or pony tail," as Allen put it.

Police are looking for the man and a black Chevrolet Silverado truck they think he drives.

Anyone who sees the man or thinks they're being followed by him is asked to contact their local police department.
