Man Charged 2 Years After Hit-and-Run Crash That Killed Leominster Teen

Authorities have charged a man in a 2015 hit-and-run accident that killed a teenager in Leominster.

A spokesman for Worcester District Attorney Joseph Early announced Friday that Conner Hartman, of Leominster, was charged last week with leaving the scene of an accident that caused personal injury. The charge is a misdemeanor.

The accident in November 2015 killed 19-year-old Francis "Frankie" Fortuna, who was struck by a car while walking to work.

Fortuna's relatives say they're upset a more serious charge like motor vehicle homicide wasn't filed.

Police say there's no evidence Hartman was acting negligently when he struck Fortuna. Authorities say Hartman reported the accident the day after.

Hartman didn't immediately return a Facebook message Saturday. It's not clear if he has a lawyer who could respond to the allegations.
