Vermont State Police say a man was charged with his third DUI offense after totaling his car in the town of Barton.

Vermont State Police say a man was charged with his third DUI offense after totaling his car in the town of Barton.

On Dec. 21 just after 12:15 p.m., police responded to a crash on Roaring Brook Road. The motorist, 42-year-old Mark Lacoss, said he was traveling eastbound when a car came into his lane and he swerved, causing him to crash into a telephone pole.

Lacoss was processed for driving under the influence at North Country Hospital. After a blood test came back, he was charged with DUI for the third time on record. He is set to appear in court on Jan. 27.
