Man Charged With DUI in Crash That Injured 3 High Schoolers

Police in Exeter, New Hampshire, charged a man with DUI Friday night following a serious head-on collision that injured three high school students.

Just after 10 p.m., police responded to Newfields Road for the report of a head-on collision. Investigators determined that a vehicle driven by 44-year-old Daniel Rainville of Auburn had crossed over the solid yellow line into oncoming traffic.

Three 17-year-old females who attend Exeter High School were in the other vehicle. The driver and passenger seat occupant were injured and treated from Exeter Hospital. The teen in the backseat is being treated for serious injuries at Portsmouth Regional Hospital.

Rainville was arrested at the scene and charged with his second DUI offense. He was released in $7,500 personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 6.
