Man Sexually Assaulted Teen, Gave Girls Booze at Bethel Motel: Police

Bethel police have arrested a man who is accused of giving alcohol to three teenage girls at a Bethel motel and sexually assaulting one of them in June.

Galo Alvarez, 33, of Danbury, was arrested on Tuesday and charged with first-degree sexual assault, risk of injury to or impairing the morals of children and three counts of delivery of alcohol to minors.

Few details are available, but police said the incident happened on June 5 at the Howard Johnson motel in Bethel.

Police have not released any information on Alvarez's connection to the teens to protect their privacy, but said he is not related to them.

Police arrested Alvarez on a warrant. Bond was set at $100,000 and he was held at Danbury Superior Court and arraigned.
