A Massachusetts man charged with murder in the death of his 88-year-old stepfather nearly five years ago has again been found mentally incompetent to stand trial.
The Telegram & Gazette reports that prosecutors told a Worcester Superior Court judge on Tuesday that Jason Masiello was found incompetent by a forensic psychologist after a July 5 competency hearing at Bridgewater State Hospital, where he has been held since April 2013.
The 42-year-old Masiello has been indicted on a first-degree murder charge.
Authorities say he slashed Michael Iagallo's throat in the family's Spencer home in August 2012, then wrapped the body in plastic and hid it in a crawl space under the house.
A psychologist said Masiello suffers either from a delusional disorder or schizophrenia.
