Man Charged in 2014 Fatal Stabbing

The office of Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel Conley says Victor Montes-Severino was arraigned Wednesday

A Boston man has been charged in the 2014 killing of a 69-year-old man whose body was found inside his Roxbury home after a fire.

The office of Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel Conley says Victor Montes-Severino was arraigned Wednesday on a murder charge in Roxbury Municipal Court.

Police said Santo Bernabel was found dead in his Roxbury home after a fire broke out on Oct. 10, 2014. Officials said the cause of death was multiple stab wounds.

Conley's office says 21-year-old Montes-Severino admitted himself to the hospital that night with a laceration on his hand.

Authorities say DNA from biological material found in Bernabel's home matched Montes-Severino.

He's due back in court on March 4. His lawyer declined to comment on the case to The Boston Herald.
