Man Charged in Deadly Crash

A driver has been arrested after a deadly crash late Saturday night in Weymouth, Massachusetts.

Police say 30-year-old Francisco Gomes of Boston crashed into a utility pole near the intersection of Middle Street and Lake Street.

There were four people in the car. Three of them were taken to South Shore Hospital, including a 29-year-old Boston man who was later pronounced dead.

The charges against Gomes include motor vehicle homicide by reckless operation, driving to endanger, marked lanes violations and speeding, Weymouth Police said.

Gomes has been held on $25,000 bail.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
