A Massachusetts man was killed Tuesday morning in a crash following a police chase in New Hampshire.
New Hampshire State Police said they received reports of a man driving a pickup truck erratically on Interstate 93 in Salem at 3:38 a.m.
The driver, identified as Byran Martinez, 36, of Hingham, Massachusetts, was reportedly swerving and preventing other vehicles from passing him.
Police said Martinez continued north, striking two other vehicles.
When troopers attempted to stop Martinez, he kept going at a fast rate of speed, up to 100 mph, as he approached the junction with Interstate 293 northbound.
Police said Martinez continued onto Interstate 293, but quickly lost control of his pickup truck, striking several trees.
Martinez was ejected and his pickup truck became engulfed in flames.
Police said emergency crews arrived and tried to resuscitate Martinez but he later died from his injuries.
Authorities said drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the collision, and that Martinez was not wearing his seat belt.
It was unclear why he was trying to flee from police.
