The incident took place just after 10:30 p.m. in the area of 10 Causeway St., just as a Pink concert was letting out of the TD Garden.

Witness Jon Williams said he was outside The Harp sports bar at the time of the stabbing.

"We see the guy on the floor. I didn't see that much blood, but he was kind of sprawled out there," recalled Williams. "You could tell that he just wasn't sleeping."

The victim, who has not been identified, was taken to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

"He had said to us he was stabbed a half hour earlier, so unfortunately I think if we had gotten to him earlier with the services he could have survived. He went into cardiac arrest," Police Commissioner William Evans said.

Fans of Pink said they hoped the concert and the stabbing weren't connected. Officials later said the two were not related.

Police are investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding the incident. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Boston Homicide Unit at 617-343-4470.
