A Maine man found guilty for murdering his wife on Christmas day 2013 was sentenced to 47 years behind bars on Friday.
Friday's sentencing comes more than a month after a judge found Christopher Saenz guilty after weighing the evidence, affiliate WCSH6 reports.
Prosecutors previously said the murder of Hilary Saenz was "an act of domestic violence;" however, Saenz maintained his innocence during the trial, telling authorities that his wife died as a result of a seizure.
Investigators showed how Saenz's wife's body had multiple bruises, all in different stages of healing.
