Man Found in Water at Swansea Town Beach Pronounced Dead, Police Say

The man was pronounced dead at the hospital despite efforts from bystanders to save him

A 55-year-old man that was pulled from the water at Swansea Town Beach on Saturday has died, authorities said.

A group of kayakers initially spotted the man and alerted a group of bystanders on the beach, Swansea Police said. The bystanders pulled him to shore and administered CPR.

When an ambulance arrived, Swansea personnel provided Advanced Life support before transporting the man to Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was pronounced dead soon after.

The identify of the man has not yet been released.

The incident remains under investigation by Swansea Police and Massachuetts State Polices detectives.
