Man in Nashua Standoff Involved in Domestic Dispute: Police

Man charged with 3 Class A misdemeanor offenses

Police have arrested the man they said was wanted on an outstanding misdemeanor domestic violence warrant after a 11 hour standoff with officers.

Shawn Goodine, 43, of Nashua was charged with domestic violence, criminal threatening, and resisting arrest. All of the offenses were Class A misdemeanors, police said.

Multiple homes were evacuated Friday as authorities responded to a police situation in Nashua, New Hampshire.

The tense situation unfolded for hours. Several streets were sealed off and many residents were not allowed to go back home.

"It is very frustrating," said Shelly Serber. "Can't get home, we've got a 19-month-old baby that needs to eat, be changed."

The situation took place on Chestnut Street near downtown Nashua Friday afternoon and into the evening.

Residents say officers went door to door around 2 p.m. telling them to evacuate.

"I am frustrated because I can't get to my home to take my medication," said Priscilla Kinville.

Police surrounded a home at the intersection of Chestnut Street and Brook Street.

The SWAT team was brought in, but residents were told very little about what was happening in their neighborhood.

Around 8 p.m., loud bangs could be heard outside the home.
