A Lewiston, Maine, man has been indicted in connection with the death of his 3-month-old son in December.
The Sun Journal reports that Danny Adams was indicted Wednesday on charges of murder and manslaughter.
The 24-year-old Adams is scheduled to make his first appearance in Androscoggin County Superior Court in Auburn next Wednesday.
He has remained jailed without bail since he was arrested in early January.
Police say Adams told investigators that the infant, Zade, wouldn't stop crying on the morning of Dec. 17. Adams said he'd used heroin and marijuana the night before. Adams also told police he squeezed the child.
An autopsy determined the cause of death was asphyxiation.
