Man Indicted on Murder Charges in Baby's Death

A man has been indicted on charges of first- and second-degree murder in the death of an 11-month-old boy last year in Alexandria, New Hampshire.

Authorities said Shawn Sylvester died of blunt impact head trauma in November.

Grafton County grand jury indictments released Wednesday allege that 29-year-old Tommy Page of North Haverhill knowingly caused Sylvester's death by applying crushing force to his head before, after, or while sexually assaulting the child, or recklessly caused his death. Page also faces charges of manslaughter, falsifying evidence and administering a controlled drug.

Six days after Sylvester died, investigators found images on Page's cellphone of an infant male engaging in sexually explicit conduct. Page was charged with possessing them. He's been jailed on $500,000 bail in that case.

A message was left with Page's lawyer Thursday.
