A Bristol, Rhode Island, man has pleaded guilty to child pornography charges in federal court.
Prosecutors say 31-year-old Mathew Antignano pleaded guilty Friday to one count each of possessing child pornography and distributing child pornography.
Antignano was arrested in July 2014 following an investigation by the Rhode Island State Police, who determined he downloaded and shared numerous files of child pornography on peer-to-peer file sharing networks.
A search of his home resulted in the seizure of a laptop computer, tablet and digital storage devices which contained the discovery of approximately 7,750 images and 180 videos depicting child pornography.
Antignano faces up to 30 years in federal prison when he is sentenced on June 30.
