A Vermont man who allegedly told police he was the top heroin distributor in the region has pleaded not guilty to three drug charges and to a charge of assaulting a police officer.
The Caledonian Record reports 30-year-old Patrick Mullinnex of Newport allegedly told police last month he travels to Connecticut and Massachusetts to bring between two and three "stacks" of heroin into the area. A stack is about 100 bags. He gave police information about out-of-state and local suppliers.
Police say he kicked an officer as they attempted to handcuff him.
Mullinnex was being held on $30,000 bail. It wasn't immediately known if he had a lawyer.
