A Massachusetts man who initially claimed he set fire to his apartment in a failed suicide attempt because of his first name is headed to prison.

The Telegram & Gazette reports
that 45-year-old Jihad Georges was sentenced to serve two years behind bars recently in Worcester Superior Court. Georges had pleaded guilty to arson on Dec. 21.

Prosecutors say Georges lit a fire in his apartment in Charlton in an attempt to collect insurance. Georges told first responders at the June 30, 2013 blaze that he knew nothing about the fire but he had a $20,000 renter's insurance policy.

Georges told investigators he wanted to kill himself because his first name prevented him from finding a job.
