A man was seriously injured Thursday night in a three-vehicle crash that shut down a highway in Amesbury, Massachusetts.
State police confirm the crash took place on Interstate 495 north, just past exit 55. It involved a Honda Accord, a Jeep and a Chevrolet pickup truck.
The occupants of the Jeep and the pickup were not hurt, but the Accord's driver, a 23-year-old man from Kensington, New Hampshire, was taken to Portsmouth Medical Center in serious condition.
I-495 is shut down at exit 55, with traffic being diverted to Route 110.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
