Authorities say a 47-year-old New Hampshire man has accidentally severed his foot with a chain saw while cutting timber.
Emergency officials arrived at a home on Highland Street in Newton just before 3:30 p.m. Monday.
The man was taken to a hospital where his condition was unclear.
Authorities didn't release details on how the accident occurred.
