Man Stabbed Multiple Times in Altercation at Bridgewater Condo

A man was stabbed multiple times Friday night at a small condo complex in Bridgewater, Mass.

Police swarmed 37 South Street around 11:55 p.m. after receiving a 911 call from a woman reporting someone had been stabbed.

When officeirs arrived, they found two men who had appeared to have been in a physical altercation. One of the men had suffered multiple stab wounds during the fight.

Through a preliminary investigation, police determined 41-year-old Adam Martinez stabbed a Bridgewater man seven times. Martinez, of York, Maine, was arrested and charged with armed assault to murder.

Martinez had cuts on his hands, which appeared to be the result of using a knife. Police recovered a folding knife with a four-inch blade from the scene of the crime.

The 40-year-old victim suffered stab wounds to his back, neck and arm, but his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Both men were taken to local hospitals for their injuries.

The suspect was treated and released into the custody of Bridgewater police.

The victim, who has not been identified, was still being treated at the hospital Saturday morning.

Some neighbors in the condo complex didn't know Saturday that a stabbing had taken place just a few feet from their doors Friday night.

Others slept through the incident but found out when they read the paper Saturday morning.

Ali Brown has been living there for 10 years and says she can’t remember one instance of violence.

Martinez is being held on $15,000 bail. He is expected to be arraigned Monday at Brockton District Court.

The stabbing remains under investigation by Bridgewater detectives.
