Man Wanted in Crime Spree Arrested in Burlington

Police say a man wanted in a crime spree in Chittenden County has been arrested in Burlington.

Shane Morrill of Colchester is accused of a string of larcenies from motor vehicles and other criminal activities, including retail theft, eluding police and identity theft.

Burlington police say they learned Sunday morning that the 32-year-old Morrill was hiding in an apartment building in the King Street area. Police say they spotted Morrill coming out the building and called out to him. He immediately ran, leading officers on a brief chase. He was taken into custody on Battery Street.

It was not immediately known if Morrill is being represented by an attorney. He was being held on Sunday on $10,000 bail.
