An Augusta, Maine, man convicted six times of drunken driving including in a crash that killed his mother is being indicted again on a charge of drunken driving.

Fifty-year-old Dwayne B. Stevens faces a charge of aggravated criminal operating under the influence from a Sept. 1 incident.

It was not immediately known if Stevens is being represented by an attorney.

Stevens was convicted in 1985 in a crash that killed his mother who was a passenger in his vehicle.

He was later convicted of misdemeanor drunken driving in 2005, for which he was sentenced to 250 days in jail, and had his license suspended for four years.

The Kennebec Journal reports that changes to the law in 2011 allow prosecutors to charge him with a more serious offense this time.
