Man, Woman Arrested on Arson Charges in Unrelated Fires

A man and a woman have been arrested on arson charges in separate, unrelated fires in Maine, according to state police.

Willie York, 38, of Standish was arrested on an arson charge Thursday for allegedly breaking into his estranged wife's Richville Road home in Standish on Oct. 25 and setting fire to her bedroom.

York was also charged with burglary, assault and criminal mischief in connection with an assault of a man in Westbrook. It's unclear if he has been arraigned or if he has an attorney.

State police say 48-year-old Michelle DesCoteaux was arrested for arson for allegedly setting a Main Street apartment house's mailboxes on fire in Lewiston on Nov. 2. No one was injured in the fire.

She's being held at Androscoggin County Jail in lieu of a $10,000 bail after her Thursday arrest. It's unclear if she has an attorney.
