A New Hampshire psychiatric expert says a woman accused of stabbing her 16-month-old daughter in the back is fit to stand trial.

Chief forensic evaluator Dr. Shannon Bader testified Wednesday that she found Evansgina Audy competent during her two interviews with the suspect over the summer. Audy is accused of stabbing her baby in 2017 and then threatening to set her own mother on fire a few months later and has pleaded not guilty.

Audy was originally found not fit to stand trial.

Under questioning from Audy's attorney, Bader admitted that it appears to her that Audy was experiencing psychotic episodes and hearing voices during her interviews.
