Man Who Fled NH Accident Scene in Custody

Reynardo Rodriguez-Placentia is wanted by ICE

A man who fled the scene of an accident in Merrimack, New Hampshire, Tuesday morning is in custody.

Merrimack Police say 22-year-old Reynardo DeJesus Rodriguez Placencia caused a car crash near the intersection of Daniel Webster Highway and Whitney Street. Crews responded just after 10:30 a.m., but police say the suspect fled on foot.

Local authorities and the New Hampshire State Police Canine Unit chased him and captured him shortly before noon.

No one was injured in the crash or the pursuit.

According to Merrimack's police chief, Rodriguez Placencia was also wanted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Rodriguez Placencia is being held on $20,000 cash bail. He is due in Merrimack 9th Circuit Court Wednesday. It was not immediately clear if he had an attorney.
