Police: Hit-and-Run Driver Turns Self in After Crash

Authorities in Marblehead, Massachusetts, say a driver has come forward after fleeing the scene of a pedestrian crash involving a mother and her two children.

Marblehead police say a mother and her two children were walking in a crosswalk at the intersection of Pleasant and Blossom streets Tuesday afternoon when the kids were hit by a truck that fled the scene.

The children were not injured and were not taken to a hospital.

Police initially said they were looking for a white pickup truck being driven by a man in his 40s. The car was heading outbound on Pleasant Street, according to police.

After 8 p.m., however, police confirmed the driver had come forward and was cooperating with the investigation. No warrant has been issued.

Anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident is asked to call 781-631-1212.
