Market Basket Truck Driver Arrested for Allegedly Threatening Police

An interstate truck driver from Nebraska accused of making threats to shoot police officers was arrested at a Market Basket distribution center in Massachusetts Wednesday.

Ronald Mockelman, 61, of Valley, was ordered to be held on $25,000 cash bail at his arraignment in Oxbridge District Court Thursday, according to state police.

Mockelman was arrested in Andover after officials learned he would be making a delivery to the distribution center on Ballardvale Road.

He allegedly made several threats to shoot state police troopers following an encounter with police in the Midwest.

Mockelman is on federal probation in Nebraska and was the subject of a warrant out of Worcester County for making threats.

His next court appearance is June 23. It’s not clear if he has an attorney.
