Adult, 2 Children Injured in Cape Cod Crash

An adult and a child are fighting for their lives after a two-vehicle crash Thursday on Cape Cod.

The Centerville-Osterville-Marston Mills Fire Department in Barnstable, Massachusetts, said it responded around 5 p.m. to a crash involving an SUV and a sedan on Route 28 between South County Road and Route 149.

In total, five people were in the vehicles. An adult and two children were taken to Cape Cod Hospital. One of the children and the adult suffered life-threatening injuries, while the other child's injuries are considered non-life-threatening.

One other person involved in the crash refused treatment, according to the fire department.

Officials said the sedan sustained major damage when it rear-ended the SUV, which was moderately damaged in the crash.

Crews cleaned up fluid that spilled from the sedan before clearing the scene.

Police were investigating the cause of the crash.
