Mass. Man Arrested in N.H. on Drug Charges

A Massachusetts man was arrested in Salem, New Hampshire, on drug charges, according to police.

A Massachusetts man was arrested in Salem, New Hampshire, on drug charges, according to police.

On Wednesday around 10:50 p.m., police stopped a vehicle traveling on South Broadway due to cell phone use.

As the officer approached the vehicle, a strong smell of marijuana was noticeable inside the car. The operator willingly handed over a pipe that had been packed with marijuana, along with a large bag of marijuana.

The operator, identified as 25-year-old Alex Ramos of Chelsea, Massachusetts, was arrested for possession of a controlled drug and transporting drugs in motor vehicle. In addition, he was issued a warning for the use of his cell phone while driving.

Ramos will appear in court on Aug. 10.
