Mass. Man Pleads Guilty to Assault, Kidnapping Charges

A Lowell judge on Monday sentenced 21-year-old Keven Blakemore to up to 12 years in state prison

A Massachusetts man who authorities say stabbed his brother, raped a woman, kidnapped them both and then fled to Ohio last year is headed to prison.

A Lowell judge on Monday sentenced 21-year-old Keven Blakemore to up to 12 years in state prison after Blakemore pleaded guilty to multiple charges including armed assault with intent to commit murder and kidnapping.

Blakemore previously pleaded not guilty to the charges. The Lowell Sun reports that two counts of rape were placed on file without a change of plea.

Prosecutors say Blakemore stabbed his adoptive brother, Ken Herbison, in their Boxborough apartment in August, and then raped a woman in the apartment.

Prosecutors say he then drove both to Pike County, Ohio, where he was taken into custody and returned to Massachusetts.
