Massachusetts State Police said they were notified around 9:30 p.m. that a truck had caught fire on the eastbound side of the highway in Wayland, near the Weston line. All eastbound lanes were closed as crews worked to extinguish the fire.

NBC10 Boston's SkyRanger was over the scene, and at 10:30 p.m., traffic was backed up all the way to Framingham.

Around 10:45 p.m., state police tweeted that the fire had been put out and the left lane had reopened. They tweeted again at 11 p.m. that the lane had closed again for cleanup. By 11:10 p.m., SkyRanger showed that the left lane had opened again.

Clean-up lasted a few hours as workers hauled debris into dumpsters and move the Orange Schneider truck onto a flatbed. The truck was filled with home materials.

Weston Fire said fire hydrants were frozen and that crews from Waltham were responding to help with the water supply.

Police do not know the cause of the fire. All roads are clear for the morning commute.
