State economic development officials in Massachusetts are considering trying to lure Rhode Island-based toy company Hasbro across the border.

Colleen Arons, a spokeswoman for the Massachusetts Office of Business Development, tells The Boston Globe for a story Friday that the agency is "working to establish a dialogue" with Hasbro.

Pawtucket-based Hasbro Inc., which employs more than 1,000 people in Rhode Island, has made no secret of the fact it is in the process of evaluating several options for its corporate headquarters.

Rhode Island's governor and legislative leaders, as well as the mayors of Pawtucket and Central Falls, have said they will do everything they can to keep Hasbro.
